Taxonomy
Blanosaurus primeocaenus was named by Folie et al. (2013). Its type specimen is IRSNB R 287 (DIII RS26), a mandible (Nearly complete left dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Dormaal, which is in a Ypresian fluvial sandstone in the Tienen Formation of Belgium. It is the type species of Blanosaurus.
