Schondorfia was named by Blake and Guensburg (1989) [Sepkoski's age data: C Serp-l]. It is not extant. Its type is Schondorfia fungosa.

It was assigned to Hemizonida by Blake and Guensburg (1989); to Pustulosida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Euaxosida by Blake (2018).
