Taxonomy
Olcostephanus (Jeannoticeras) agrioensis was named by Aguirre-Urreta and Rawson (2001). Its type specimen is CPBA 19247, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Agrio del Medio, Agrio Formation, O. (O.) laticosta subzone, Neuquén Basin, which is in a Hauterivian transition zone/lower shoreface shale/siltstone in the Agrio Formation of Argentina.
