Taxonomy
Arltia mioanali was named by Guthörl (1940). Its type specimen is Bergschule Saarbrucken D/191, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Frankenholz-Saar pit, shaft 5, which is in a Westphalian D terrestrial siliciclastic in the Geisheck Formation of Germany.
