Taxonomy
Cionocoleus watsoni was named by Jarzembowski et al. (2013). Its type specimen is BMB 018806, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Smokejacks Brickworks, which is in a Barremian pond claystone/siltstone in the Weald Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
