Taxonomy
Forcipomyia eobreviflagellata was named by Szadziewski (1988). Its type specimen is MZW 19242, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Baltic Amber (Museum Ziemi collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Poland.

It was recombined as Forcipomyia (Forcipomyia) eobreviflagellata by Borkent and Wirth (1997), Borkent (2013) and Borkent and Dominiak (2020).
