Taxonomy
Schizocoleus major was named by Ponomarenko (2013). Its type specimen is PIN 5273/1, an elytra, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Kul'chumovo (PIN collection 5273), which is in a Capitanian lacustrine siltstone in the Vyazovka Formation of the Russian Federation.
