Enteletina was named by Schuchert and Cooper (1931) [Sepkoski's age data: C Pn P u Sepkoski's reference number: 1]. It is not extant. Its type is Enteletes latesinuatus.

It was reranked as Enteletes (Enteletina) by Reed (1944).

It was assigned to Enteletes by Reed (1944); to Enteletidae by Williams et al. (2000); and to Orthida by Sepkoski (2002).
