Taxonomy
Tetraponera europaea was named by Dlussky (2009). Its type specimen is SIZK K-3626, an exoskeleton, and it is an inclusion in amber. Its type locality is Rovno Amber, Klesov locality (SIZC K collection), which is in a Priabonian terrestrial amber in Ukraine.
