Taxonomy
Erronea (Adusta) shirleyae was named by Dolin (1991). Its type specimen is USNM 438613, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is TU 546 - Tenmile Creek, which is in a Burdigalian marine marl/sandstone in the Chipola Formation of Florida.
It was recombined as Zonaria shirleyae by Dolin and Lozouet (2004) and Landau and Groves (2011).
