Taxonomy
Metabuprestium cuneomaculatum was named by Alexeev (1996). Its type specimen is PIN 2385/924, an elytra, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Pad Semen (PIN collection 2385), which is in an Aptian terrestrial siliciclastic in the Argun Formation of the Russian Federation.
