Yinpanolithus was named by Lu and Chang (1974) [Sepkoski's age data: O Aren-u Sepkoski's reference number: 875]. It is not extant.

It was assigned to Trinucleidae by Turvey and Zhou (2002); and to Ptychopariida by Sepkoski (2002).
