Taxonomy
Peltoperleidus triseries was named by Bürgin (1992). Its type specimen is PIMUZ T.2880, a partial skeleton, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Cascinello, Tessin collection, Monte San Giorgio, which is in an Illyrian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal dolomite/shale in the Besano Formation of Switzerland.
