Taxonomy
Peltopleurus nuptialis was named by Lombardo (1999). Its type specimen is MCSNIO P639 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cà del Frate, Viggiù, Monte San Giorgio, which is in a Longobardian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal limestone in the Meride Formation of Italy.
