Theriosuchus grandinaris

Taxonomy
Theriosuchus grandinaris was named by Lauprasert et al. (2011). Its type specimen is PPC-2, a partial skull (A nearly complete rostrum and dentary), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Phu Phok, which is in a Barremian wet floodplain siltstone in the Sao Khua Formation of Thailand.

Lauprasert et al. 2011Theriosuchus grandinaris is distinguished from other Theriosuchus species in having the following unique combination of characters: nasal bone gradually wider in posterior direction; premaxillo-maxillary suture aligned posteromedially in dorsal view; weak notch at the suture between premaxilla and maxilla; combination of pseudocaniniform teeth, lanceolate-shaped teeth and labio-lingually flattened teeth with faintly crenulated carinae; mandibular symphysis not extending caudally beyond the seventh dentary tooth; slender prefrontal tapering anteriorly.
