Taxonomy
Helicacanthus pervis was named by Pan (1977). Its type specimen is NIGP 24268, a shell, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is YHW239, Fengdeng, Changxin, Yunlong County, which is in a Bajocian/Bathonian marine horizon in the Hepingxiang Formation of China.
