Taxonomy
Metriophyllum qaganqulutense was named by Guo (1980). Its type specimen is Ru1087 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Zhagan Chulu, Liutiagou Formation, Bayan Wulan, Jalaid Qi, which is in a Capitanian marine horizon in the Liutiagou Formation of China.
