Taxonomy
Steleopteron deichmuelleri was named by Handlirsch (1906). Its type specimen is 1903.V3 1985/4, an exoskeleton (Body somewhat dissociated), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Eichstätt, Solnhofen (Naturhistorischen Museum Wien collection), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
