Diagnosis
ReferenceDiagnosis
E. Vlachos 2018Floridemys nana can be diagnosed as a member of Testudinidae by the presence of good coincidence of the costoperipheral suture and pleuro-marginal sulci, the presence of a well-developed epiplastral lip, and the short pectorals. Floridemys nana differs from other Testudinidae in the presence of short and wide gular scutes with an almost transverse gularohumeral sulcus that does not cover the entoplastron, with an almost straight gularo-humeral sulcus perpendicular to the midline.
