Mycterosuchus nasutus

Taxonomy
Steneosaurus nasutus was named by Andrews (1909). Its type specimen is BMNH R2617, a partial skeleton, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Peterborough area, Leeds Collection, which is in a Callovian offshore mudstone in the Oxford Clay Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Mycterosuchus.

It was synonymized subjectively with Steneosaurus leedsi by Adams-Tresman (1987) and Pierce et al. (2009); it was recombined as Mycterosuchus nasutus by Andrews (1913) and Johnson et al. (2020).
