Taxonomy
Prosynapta eiseliana was named by Spandel (1898). It is the type species of Calclyra.

It was recombined as Calclyra eiseliana by Deflandre-Rigaud (1962), Frizzell and Exline (1966), Mostler (1971), Wernlund (1977), Kozur and Mostler (1989) and Reich (2007).
