Bickmorites was named by Foerste (1925) [Sepkoski's age data: S Ldov-u S Wenl Sepkoski's reference number: 524].

It was assigned to Barrandoceratidae by Teichert et al. (1964); to Barrandeoceratidae by Crick (1981); and to Barrandeocerida by Sepkoski (2002).
