Taxonomy
Ammonites austeni was named by Sharpe (1855). It is not a trace fossil.

It was recombined as Parapuzosia (Austiniceras) austeni by Wright and Kennedy (1984), Chancellor et al. (1994) and Wilmsen and Nagm (2014).
