Taxonomy
Palaeolima nakamurai was named by Nakazawa (1999). It is not extant. Its type specimen is HP 100096, a partial shell (Right valve and incomplete left valve). Its type locality is Festningen, Unit 7-1, Svalbard (1989-91 coll), which is in a Wuchiapingian marine shale in the Kapp Starostin Formation of Svalbard and Jan Mayen.
