Taxonomy
Echinorbis papillosa was named by Waterhouse (1987). Its type specimen is UQF 70257, a valve (Left valve), and it is a mold. Its type locality is UQ L4316, Ross Creek Tributary, Cracow Station, which is in a Roadian coastal siltstone in the Brae Formation of Australia. It is the type species of Echinorbis.
