Taxonomy
Eucyon debonisi was named by Montoya et al. (2009). It is not extant. Its type specimen is Museu de Geologia de la Universitat de València, MGUV 14780-2, a partial skull (maxilla and mandible fragments). Its type locality is Venta del Moro, which is in a Turolian floodplain conglomerate/lignite in the Venta del Moro-Villatoya Formation of Spain.
