Ambostracon costatum
Taxonomy
Ambostracon costatum was named by Hazel (1962). Its type specimen is University of Missouri number 0-1220-2, a carapace, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Woodring Loc. 43 - San Pedro [Lomita Marl], which is in a Pleistocene offshore marl in the Lomita Marl Formation of California. It is the type species of Ambostracon.
