Taxonomy
Rissoa (Turbonilla) gracilior was named by M'Coy (1851). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Penylan Quarry, Pen-y-lan, which is in a Sheinwoodian carbonate mudstone in the Pen-y-lan Mudstone Formation of the United Kingdom. It is the type species of Holopella.

It was recombined as Chemnitzia gracilior by Lepsius (1878); it was recombined as Loxonema gracilior by Knight et al. (1960); it was recombined as Holopella gracilior by M'Coy (1851), Sandberger (1866), Ogilvie Gordon (1927) and Wagner (2023).
