Taxonomy
Halgaitosaurus gregarius was named by Henrici et al. (2023). It is not extant. Its type specimen is CM 96000, a partial skeleton. Its type locality is Birthday Bonebed, which is in a Kasimovian/Kungurian fluvial mudstone in the Halgaito Formation of Utah.
