Blattoidealestes gracilis was named by Boonstra (1954). It is not extant. Its type specimen is SAM 4321 (skull and partial skeleton). Its type locality is Prince Albert Road, which is in a Capitanian/Wuchiapingian terrestrial horizon in South Africa.
