Gaffneylania auricularis
Taxonomy
Gaffneylania auricularis was named by Sterli et al. (2015). Its type specimen is MPEF-PV 10556, a partial skeleton (Cranial, vertebral and appendicular remains), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Verde lower level, which is in an Eocene lacustrine tuff in the Sarmiento Formation of Argentina. It is the type species of Gaffneylania.
