Yaminuechelys maior
Taxonomy
Naiadochelys maior was named by Staesche (1929). Its type specimen is MPEF PV-1273, a partial skeleton (shell fragments), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cerro Hansen, which is in a Danian terrestrial horizon in the Salamanca Formation of Argentina.
It was considered a nomen dubium by Gaffney et al. (2006); it was recombined as Yaminuechelys maior by Bona and de la Fuente (2005), de la Fuente et al. (2014) and Maniel and de la Fuente (2016).
