Proconsul meswae
Taxonomy
Proconsul meswae was named by Harrison and Andrews (2009). Its type specimen is KNM-ME 11, a maxilla (left premaxilla and maxilla with dI1-dP4, M1, and unerupted I1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Meswa Bridge locality 36, which is in a Chattian channel sandstone in the Muhroni Agglomerates Formation of Kenya.
