Watongia meieri
Taxonomy
Watongia meieri was named by Olson (1974). Its type specimen is UCMP 143278 (formerly UCLA VP 3132), a partial skeleton (partial skull, anterior dorsal vertebrae, partial pectoral girdle, ribs, gastralia, and limb elelments), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is BC-7 (Chickasha Formation), which is in a Roadian/Wordian deltaic sandstone/shale in the Chickasha Formation of Oklahoma.
