Taxonomy
Eodicynodon oelofseni was named by Rubidge (1990). Its type specimen is NMQR 2913, a skull, and it is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Botterkraal, Prince Albert, which is in a Guadalupian terrestrial horizon in the Abrahamskraal Formation of South Africa.
