Comments: The fossil turtles from the marls of Upper Swabia, with a taxonomic note on “Promalacoclemmys Reinach, 1900” and Testudo antiqua Bronn, 1831 (Testudines: Cyptodira) The fossil turtles from the Swabian marls around Biberach are described and discussed. The species Chelydropsis murchisoni, Allaeochelys parayrei, Trionyx triunguis, Mauremys pygolopha, Clemmydopsis turnauensis, Ptychogaster kinkelini, Testudo antiqua, Testudo kalksburgensis and Cheirogaster vitodurana have been detected. Some of the material is original to the scientific-historically important Tertiary collection by Dr. h.c. Josef Probst, Biberach (1823-1905), here specifically for marls. The genus “Promalacoclemmys Reinach, 1900” is rejected and the corresponding species connected to the genus Palaeomauremys. The authentic lectotype specimen of Testudo antiqua Bronn, 1831 is defined and described.
