Lithology description: ...the prevailing chalk facies laterally grade into unconsolidated glauconitic sands or sandy clays...These data indicate that the Coffee Sand reaches a total thickness of 72 m in the area concerned; lies on the Mooreville Chalk and is overlain by the Demopolis Chalk. The top of the Chapelville fossiliferous horizon lies about 17 m above the base of the formation.
