Key time interval:Oxfordian
Age range of interval:161.50000 - 154.80000 m.y. ago
Age estimate:161.2 ± 0.2 to 158.7 ± 0.3 Ma (Ar/Ar)
Stratigraphy
Formation:Shishugou Member:Middle
Local section:Wucaiwan Local bed:135 m
Local order:bottom to top
Stratigraphic resolution:bed
Stratigraphy comments: "The specimen is from 35 m below the T-1 marker tuff, which had been dated as
161.2 6 0.2 Ma. Recalibration of the age of the Fish Canyon sanidine monitor mineral suggests that the age of the T-1 marker tuff should be adjusted 0.6% older. Thus, we regard its age as 162.2 plus/minus 0.2 Ma" (Andres et al 2014)
