Stratigraphy
Geological group:Rosário do Sul Formation:Santa Maria Member:Alemoa
Stratigraphic resolution:group of beds
Stratigraphy comments: Santa Maria 2 (upper half of Santa Maria Formation), from the so-called "Rhynchosaur Cenozone" or "Hyperodapedon Assemblage Zone" in a stratigraphic level "with great abundance of the traversodontid Exaeretodon riograndensis." The Hyperodapedon Assemblage Zone is generally considered late Carnian in age, but could extend into the early Norian.
