Stratigraphy
Stratigraphic resolution: | group of beds
Stratigraphy comments: a "radiocarbon date of 6080 +/- 250 B.P." on "endocarps of Celtis reticulata" is rejected as "too young by at least 2000 years" because the sample is thought to have been "contaminated by carbonates in percolating water" that was definitely present, suggesting a very late Pleistocene or early Holocene age to the authors |
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology: | pebbly, brown unlithified calcareous siltstone |
Lithology description: "fine [pebbly pale brown] carbonate silt... loose" below a "travertine layer"
Environment: | cave |
Glacial or sequence phase: | late glacial |

Collection methods: | bulk,selective quarrying,sieve,field collection
Minimum sieve size: | 2.000
Reason for describing collection: | general faunal/floral analysis
Collectors: | E. L. Roth, W. Peachey | Collection dates: | 1972 |
Collection method comments: University of Arizona, Laboratory of Paleontology collection
"an approximately 1.0 by 0.5 by 0.5 m layer" was excavated and "screened through window mesh (2 mm) sieves" |
