Bahia Carrizo [El Nuro Mbr, Taime Fm] (Pleistocene of Peru)

Where: Peru (4.3° S, 81.3° W: paleocoordinates 4.5° S, 82.3° W)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• local area-level geographic resolution

When: El Nuro Member (Taime Formation), Early/Lower Pleistocene (2.6 - 0.8 Ma)

• LITHOSTRATIGRAPHY: From the El Nuro Mbr of the Taime Fm, which overlies the Golf Course Mbr, and further unconformably overlies paleogene bedrock, and is unconformably overlain by the Mancora Tablazo. AGE: Likely to be lowermost Pleistocene, on the basis of macrofossil biostratigraphy and stratigraphic position. STRATIGRAPHIC RELATIONS: Unclear from what part of the member the collection is derived, so collection should be considered a composite list for the member.

• member-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: coastal; siliciclastic sediments

• ENVIRONMENT: Beaches, with sorting shallow subtidal settings.
• LITHOLOGY: Mixed siliciclastic facies, including siltstone and gravels. LITHIFICATION: Unknown.

Size class: macrofossils
