Also known as GBLH, MBL

Where: Himachal Pradesh, India (31.0° N, 77.0° E: paleocoordinates 3.5° N, 69.7° E)

• coordinate based on nearby landmark

• outcrop-level geographic resolution

When: Subathu Formation, Ypresian (56.0 - 47.8 Ma)

• unit seems to be only .5 m in thickness at this locality

• member-level stratigraphic resolution

Environment/lithology: marine; pebbly, shelly/skeletal, black, gray limestone

• occurs in the form of bands of varying thickness between the grey and green shales, at places (e.g. near this locality) it becomes pebbly or microconglomeratic consisting of black iron oxide concretions and phosphatic nodules embedded in a grey to black matrix. This pebble rock is rich in oysters and bone fragments and the calcareous matrix is recrystallized. This quartz veins are very common
