When: Mons Member (Charleroi Formation), Westphalian A (318.7 - 316.9 Ma)

• 100 m below the horizon of Quaregnon (335 m) - Upper Westphalian A -a depth of 442.50 m (dimension - 1107.50) towards the base of the roof of a vein of 1 m 25 deep, intersected between the depths of 443 and 444.53 m in a substantially quiet suite in the form of normal flats inclined moderately at 30 °, and which should be considered until more information as the southern extension of the northern peak of the Mons Couchant deposit.

Environment/lithology: terrestrial; lithified, black shale and lithified carbonate

• The roof in question is of clayey shale, blackish, very fine, with a brownish-gray stripe, banded with thin carbonate beds. In addition to very rare plant debris, there are shell debris, especially Naiadites and Anthraconauta minima, as well as quite a few tracks (Sinusia).

Taxonomic list

• Sinusia is a trace fossil, synonymized with Cochlichnus Hitchcock, 1858. Rindsberg (pers. com 2022) indicates that if this is a burrow, rather than a surface trail, it should be Cymataulus Rindsberg 1994. Compare to "Sinusites" in Seilacher (1963, Fortschr. Geol. Rheinld. u. Westf.)
