When: Late/Upper Miocene (11.6 - 5.3 Ma)

• The age estiamtes for the collection are made based on the presense of several taxa characteristic of a Pliocene Hipparion fauna.

•JA: the age is unquestionably late Miocene based on the faunal list

Environment/lithology: terrestrial

• Unknown but thought to be from the red clays of the early Pliocene, Pontian, of the Paote Distirct, where the type specimen of Sinotherium largrelii was found.
