• Said to be from middle of quarried interval; alternative zone name Dicarinella primitiva/Marginotruncana sigali Zone; was just Scaglia Rossa.

Environment/lithology: marine; limestone

• bedding surface represent 'firmgrounds' representing long intervals of non-deposition.
• The quarried interval is known locally as 'lastame' and is 7-8 meter thick with 70 layers of flaser-nodular wnitish to reddish limestones that range in thickness from 4 to 35 cm and separated by shaly layers.
