Environment/lithology: estuary or bay; red claystone and red sandstone

• the abundance and diversity of chondrichthyan fish suggests a marine influence
• The fossil-bearing level belongs to the Senonian Bostobe Formation, which is composed of alternating predominantly red clays and sandstones (Sidorenko, 1972; Kordikova et al., 2001). The main fossiliferous bed is red clay in the middle of the section (Rozhdestvensky, 1964).
