When: Niobrara Formation (Colorado Group), Coniacian (89.8 - 86.3 Ma)
• Calcareous shale member. Some of the original samples contain an oyster layer, identified as "Ostrea" sp., Ostrea congesta var. bentonensis, and Inoceramus prisms. None of these are age diagnostic, although the assemblage is close to the Turonian stage. No foraminifera were found. Age assigned in paper is Coniacian.
