• "Whereas the basal part of the Hype Beds consists of dark oolitic and organo-detrital limestone, crinoidal and shelly limestomes, most of the Hybe Beds compises cyclical sequences of dark marls. A typical cycle begins with a thin rusty maril, succeeded by dark-grey to black marl with few fossils. The uppermost part of each cycle consists of richly fossiliferous grey marl with carbonate concretions. The marly beds are usually followed by limestone layers consisting of shelly biomicrite to biosparrudite."
