Stratigraphy
Formation:Bahía Inglesa Member:Unit 1
Local order:bottom to top
Stratigraphy comments: Rojo 1985 regarded the bed as Miocene
Walsh and Naish 2002 uses Diatoms to state that it spans the Miocene-Pliocene boundary and extends as far as the middle Pliocene.
Lithology and environment
Primary lithology:coarse conglomerate
Includes fossils?Y
Environment:lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal
Geology comments: lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal, submarine canyon, upper continental slope to outer shelf
Taphonomy
Modes of preservation:body,original phosphate
Size of fossils:macrofossils
Collection methods and comments
Collection excludes:some macrofossils,some microfossils
Reason for describing collection:biostratigraphic analysis
