Collection methods and comments
Reason for describing collection:biostratigraphic analysis
Collection method comments: This site was first discovered in 1875. In 1970 two further sites were discovered which are now designated Chilhac 2 and 3.
Taxonomic list comments:Bout (1960) is an unpublished PhD thesis. The faunal list is given in Bonifay, 1991. The original list also gives Hyaena sp., cf. Capreolus sp. and Deperetia ardea DEP. These are not listed by Heintz and have probably been revised. The specimens referred to these species are not discussed in Heintz et al. 1974, whereas all the others can be assigned to updated genera.
